Darby was raised in Prairie Village, Ks and graduated from Shawnee Mission East in 2011. He started playing lacrosse in the 7th grade for the Brookside Badgers continued playing for SME in high school. He was a three-year varsity defenseman and played on the first SME team to win a state championship, in 2011. As a junior, he was an all-state honorable mention and as a senior he earned first team all-state honors. He has been a junior varsity coach for Lancer Lacrosse since 2018.
Darby attended the University of Kansas and graduated with a Master of Accounting degree in 2016. He obtained his CPA license shortly after and currently works on the corporate accounting team at Custom Truck One Source in Kansas City, Missouri.
Outside of work and lacrosse, Darby loves to travel, try new restaurants with his wife, Emily, and play golf with his buddies.
